This song is amazing live, one of the best.
For me Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss me comes before Wish but neither before Disintegration.

And I’d rather some of their older songs to some of the songs on Wish

So obviously the 1992 live version of A Forest is the greatest rock song of all time. It is simple and not so at the same time. It can be riffed on like a great jazz song and not lose its soul. What's your 2nd favorite Cure song? Mine is The Kiss, especially the extended Trilogy version. A guitar solo with a sound like I hadn't heard prior.

Yeah, I've had about 7 Knob Creeks neat up to now.

From Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me obviously The Kiss is the most powerful and best song. It’s unreal!!
I’ve always had a soft spot for
Why Can’t I Be You? Probably because of the video. I Loved it. One of their fun upbeat songs

Wow!! I’ve been a Cure fan since the eighties and I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I’ve never heard these instrumentals before.
Thanks for posting

I relistened to this again (for probably the millionth time) after the Fascination Street post a few weeks ago. I love how the bass carries so much of the album, so many damn catchy hooks that the band just built around perfectly.

Fascination Street's bass line is up there with Would? in my humble opinion.

That was one of the first albums I purchased and instantly regretted it. But since that was one of a few albums I had, I would still listen to it. It grew into one of my favorites. I don’t know how that happens.

First song I ever heard by the Cure was Close To Me on KNLU when I was in high school and I was instantly a rabid fan.

That was a great compilation and I wore the cassette out over 1986. Back then you couldn't find all those singles with the B-sides and if somehow I could, well, I was a kid and didn't have a ton of money to spend. To a kid it seemed like such a long time between Head on the Door and Kiss Me at the time but it was less than 2 years.

Perhaps this is known to those interested in this thread, but note that Fascination Street was inspired by their time on Bourbon Street.

I didn't know that:

quote:

"Fascination Street" was inspired by an alcoholic night in New Orleans.[4]

In the liner notes for the compilation Galore, Robert Smith describes “Fascination Street” as:

A ‘generic’ song about the (often cynical) delights of exploring a new city nightlife; based loosely on one particular ‘band adventure’ in New Orleans 1985 – Bourbon Street, the cliche perhaps.

I’m thinking Wish is their most complete album.

I loved Wish.

I associate it with Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I would play the game while the Wish album played in the background.
