Neil Young cannot tell time.

Ended JazzFest show ten minutes early.

The consensus of my crew is that he did not start early.

I think he did start a little early - maybe 5 minutes, not 10
I kinda thought they were going to do “Rockin’ in the Free World” as an encore.

Canadians use metric time so of course it was ten minutes shorter than you expected.

I could be wrong on this, but my girlfriend asked me why he didn’t play that one, and I think it’s because it was a Neil Young solo song, and not a Neil Young and Crazy Horse song.

He played it last week at one of their shows.

Gotcha. It’s a tired song anyway. The free world is long dead.

I thought he could have been turned up a little louder but otherwise it was an excellent Saturday show!

Yeah, I was obsessively reading set lists and I think that had been the show closer.

On his current tour he hasn't been playing any of his big hits. Was it different at Jazz Fest?

70 percent of his songs at jazz fest were hits.

Man has 60 years of songs to choose from. Hard to pick em. Certainly have us some of Crazy Horse’s biggest songs but not too much from solo (such as Harvest era).

He is with Crazy Horse so they are playing mostly greatist hits of NH+CH. Neil solo work just sprinkled in during 3 song acoustic set.

I heard an interview with him that said he was intentionally playing deep cuts on this tour. Apparently that was not the case at Jazz Fest.

Neil Young announces tour, playing songs he’s never played live before

Looks like this was for limited dates in 2023, so no longer applies.
