Looking for recommendations for a small bass amp, would be used to practice with an acoustic bass with a pickup and maybe play in a small jam setting.

Don't need anything too crazy just something for a little more volume than playing strictly acoustic.

Does the small jam setting involve electric guitars or drums?

Rumble 210 would probably be a good bet if so.

If no drums or electrics, just a 75-100 watt Hartke/Ampeg/Fender single speaker combo should do.

A lot of double bass dudes in NO are using the smaller Rumbles. They sound great, and they're not crazy high. And you don't need a dolly for it.

Shop for a used Ampeg BA combo. They make several generations of 2x10 and 1x15 amps, I prefer the former. They are boomy, versatile and they get loud enough for live applications. You can find them in great condition for around $300 used. Absolute MVP for the price point - the one in my shop has gotten praise and raves from every pro bassist who has played through it.

I have the one with the top controls, just like this one ...
