Usama Young has Surgery

Is there anyone on the team without a sports hernia? This thing seems contagious, somehow.

At least now I understand why we signed a safety off the street yesterday.

While I think the staff will consider switching Jenkins in the offseason, the thought is ridiculous for now. With Gay likely not playing due to concussion and Greer not back yet, Jenkins is going to play a critical role in Sunday's game at CB. You just can't switch a player to an unfamiliar position at this point of the season.

I'm still wondering if its those freaking mouthpieces.

Although Shockey said he hadn't heard of them before and just had a regular mouthpiece.

It really is curious. Someone mentioned before it's not really a hernia, more like a type of groin pull. It makes you wonder if there is indeed some equipment or field/turf issue at play here.

I've never seen so many injuries in one season. Hope it doesn't cost us.

Give the guy some time. He's only a rookie.

He doesn't need time, he needs speed. Porter came in much less heralded and we almost immediately knew we had found a starting corner when he started playing. Jenkins is a playmaker but I don't think NFL corner is where he's best suited to play.

Though Jenkins is a rookie and needs time, i think his position in the future will be at safety.

1. he's not slow
2. speed is highly overrated for a CB. The list has been posted on these boards time and again of the "slow" CB's in the league that were dominant.

Porter was a high 2nd rd pick. Less herealded? Sure. Much less? I think being a high 2nd disqualifies this statemen. Just because YOU never heard of him before the draft does not mean the experts didn't.

Furthermore, it isn't often that rookies start right away and are successful. We got lucky with Porter, yet he still had his bad moments last year.

This is the biggest problem with free agency. It has created a need to produce now attitude with the fans, and you all forget that the transition from college to NFL takes time. The number of players who develop over time into great ones far outweighs the ones who are rookie stars.

maybe, but only time will tell. He is a CB first, and if that doesn't work out, then he can go to safety. Let the coaches who know what the frick they are doing make that decision, not all of you Madden experts.

One of my roomates saw him at Lucy's after the New England game...asked a group a girls he was with if they wanted to leave and go smoke pot at his place. Wonder how many other guys on the team toke it up.
