Pretty sure the front office has no desire to bring him back for whatever reason. Ironic after he played probably his best season with us.

He was a top 5 salary cap hit during when he didn't contribute or was hurt. I'm glad we got some use of him last year, but that didn't warrant keeping him around. Imp, he stole big money from the Saints.
I bitched for years how overpaid Peat was relative to how much he played. Good riddance I guess. Hopefully they find a free agent not named Peat to come in for depth.

Looks like we will sink or swim with penning. Penning has Allen's career on his back.

Over a thousand players will be released by game one. Trades can be made. And players can get better and earn the job that we did or did not see happening. Until we hear something concrete who knows anything about what Peat is up to.

I don't think Peat is a guy you want zone blocking, but I could be wrong.

There is no way they go into the season with penning as the only option at left tackle.

Peat would be fine zone blocking.
It probably came down to them working with peat on a small contract before his dead money kicked in. They didn't come to an agreement.
Imo they will bring another vet in to compete for that lt spot.

The fact that he hasn’t signed yet indicates that he is overestimating his market value. When he comes to his senses I would take him back at the right price. He did a credible job at left tackle last year.
