Separating from the military 2025. Will be attending LSU in N.O. or Baton Rouge (depends which major I pick).

If I move to Baton Rouge where should I live? St Francisville and Denham Springs look promising to me but idk.

I know I’m gonna have to commute no matter what to not be in the ghetto.

What about New Orleans?

Extra info to help - I have one child. 100k plus in savings. No debt. Want to buy house. Wife will work making 80k per year. Want private Christian school for son. Don’t want any pink haired liberals living near me.

Thank you!!!!!!!

Neither. Avoid Louisiana at all costs.

I mean I found a few bodies in El cid. Fell into them. Then out of them.

Then back into them.

Is that the condos on Stafford or whatever it’s called, across from the lakes, where Coach O had his stabbin cabin ?

Same here. I was on the South side, across the street from the main office. For $325/month, it was quiet and spacious.

To the OP, for Baton Rouge, avoid zip code 70805, streets named after: Native American tribes, dead Presidents, numbers...Now that I think about it, just avoid Baton Rouge.

I’m not familiar with undergrad programs in NOLA. Just Med and Dental Schools.

LSU Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Alexandria or Eunice will get you an undergrad degree.

Baton Rouge has plenty of fine areas to live in but if you want to spend copious amounts of quality time in traffic, pick Denham Springs.

As a bonus, you are surrounded by methed out rednecks and judgmental religious types when you are living and shopping in Livingston Parish.

Good Christian private schools are plentiful in the $15,000 - $30,000 a year range. Lesser ones will be $8,000 - $12,000.

You definitely need to do more research.
