I drove by it on I-10, and the place looks completely desolate. I would think that by this point it would be open for the summer. I loved going when I was younger, and I know it’s gone downhill since then. Does anyone know how far downhill it’s gone?

Not sure, but I did get touched by a turd in the wave pool when I was about 11 years old.

I don’t think I would venture to Blue Bayou for any amount of money these days. I would rather just run through a sprinkler

I think they're having staffing issues.

Unfortunately. Like many things in Baton Ruuge’….once it turns, the paying, pleasant and compliant customers vanish.

Probably open more in the afternoons and all day Saturday and Sunday

Read recently that they were hoping to open Blue Bayou sometime in June but it wasn’t looking like it was going to happen. Doesn’t help when you can legally pay your staff less than minimum wage because you are a “seasonal” employer.

Apparently the rides from Dixie Landing have been up for sale since last year.

This. It's been nothing but a bacteria farm since it opened.

Why, to accommodate the busy work schedules of their patrons?

The word from this board is that they can't find enough certified lifeguards to cover all the shifts, therefore, have not opened for the season.

Yet, another casualty of the millennial work strike

No one calls it Blue Bayou anymore if you know what I mean.

haven't seen anyone around the place. but, the wave pool water seems to be a lot cleaner. looks like they're at least attempting to open.

my question is: if they aren't going to reopen the other part of the park, why not tear the shite down and either add water rides or parking?

Even if they are open I see them busy so few days out of the year I don’t see how they can make money.
