Police Chief Retires after KKK note left on officers desk.

When I saw the headline I didn't think there was a chance in hell this was a real article. It actually looks like the black officers laughs when he sees the note. LINK /

I honestly think he was joking. Obviously a horrible attempt at it, but I don't think his intentions were malicious.

You have to know your audience.. If you don't, your words can easily be misrepresented.
In a perfect world, the black officer would have gone to the chief an asked him what was the deal with the KKK note. That their relationship isn't at the point where they can joke around about shite like that. The chief says he didn't mean anything by it, it was just a poor attempt of humor.. Tells the black cop that he didn't mean anything at all by it or wanted to insult him.. It was just a bad attempt at a joke by him..
Black dude understands, it wasn't meant to be nothing more than a joke. Everyone is on the same page.. Goes on with life.. But..

I agree with you, but it seems beyond obvious that in this poli climate making a joke like that is just about the dumbest thing. If he’s that dumb he probably shouldn’t be a chief anyway
