First off...if this doesn't belong here, please feel free to move it.

I have a 2019 C2500HD High Country and the touchscreen seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. I've read some internet forums and it seems to be a common issue. Has anyone had a similar thing happen to their Silverado? What'd you do to get it repaired? I've seen just the screen advertised on one site, but the vendor hasn't gotten back to me. I'm sure I could order the display assembly from a dealership or GM Parts online...but I don't mind just replacing the screen...the instructional video out there was pretty good actually and I have the electronics tools here at home.

TIA.

I have a 2016 and it happened last summer and a couple times this summer. It seems to only happen when it's extremely hot inside the truck. I've started leaving my windows cracked when there's no chance of rain. It hasn't happened in the last month.

I'm not much help, just letting you know you're not the only one.

Had the same thing happen to my 2017 and it became so bad I just bit the bullet and had the dealership replace it. I read that a cause was due to water coming in from the sharkfin(antenna above driver seat). I also sealed up that gasket with some black silicon to make sure no more water comes in to hopefully prevent it.

I have a slight issue with my screen in my 2023. It will restart within a minute or two of me getting in the truck. Like I'll crank it, put it in drive, and by the time I pull onto the road it restarts. Works perfect other than that, so its not a huge issue for me. The parts have been ordered for my 120v plug retrofit installation, so when I bring it in for them to install those, I'll mention this to them, and have them see what they can do about it.

I have a 2018 and a few times a year my volume freezes at whatever level I have it at. Always on long drives, I have to pull over and turn the truck off/on. I put 9k into the truck in December for a new transmission/radiator/motor mounts/couple other things. If my screen goes completely out I may put my fist through it.

I have a Tacoma, my radio was acting up while I was in Omaha. I called the SIL, brought it into the dealership. He’s handles all my service work, updated the radio, no problems. They had a update that I missed, so from now on, I’ll keep checking the updates.
Hope this helps. Radios are a computer with chips, an update might fix, I’d start there.

I bought a used 2015 Silverado recently and touch screen only worked in one area. I bought a $60 touchscreen from Amazon and replaced myself. I do get some ghosting at times but it is usually in lightning storms. Don't know why.

Seems like GM hasn't solved their issues based on some comments in thread.
