Outdoor baws, I currently have Dish and my contract ended causing my monthly bill to go up about $40. Will be calling next week to negotiate that back down, but in the case I need to walk away, any of y'all with DirecTV have any complaints?

Price-wise, both years of a comparable DirecTV package would average to a few dollars more than what my in-contract Dish bill was, just not sure about the service quality of DirecTV. FWIW, I've been impressed with Dish's service.

I had direct TV for years and just canceled to go with AT&T TV because I didn’t want holes drilled in my roof or a pole in my yard for the dish. I have a dish tailgater for the ranch and I like the month to month but Direct TV is better to me.

I've been watching YouTube videos on how to properly repair those holes. I have two dishes on my roof. I think I've got a plan now for repair. I agree, nobody should have holes drilled on their roof by people who could care less how they mount those dishes.

I've had both and prefer DISH hands down. I had Directv first and upon their promotional deal expiring tried to re-nogotiate twice with them, and told them I was going elsewhere then. DISH gave me a deal about $20 less/month for the same or better programming as directv's deal. But what is much better with DISH is their customer service and tech help if there are any issues. Much easier to get them on the phone, and am talking to people who aren't in India trying to walk me through a technical issue. Of course directv was quick to call back and want my business after I pulled the plug on them on moved on to DISH.

I just dropped it all and went with the Hi Def antenna at the camp. You get classic Westerns and wife’s poisoning husbands stories. What more do you need?

In my opinion directv has the superior product but it's gotten closer as of late. When I had dish about 7 years ago there was no hopper and their DVR was horrendous.
Eta - dish us the better company though. And usually cheaper.

My FIL is dropping dish because they get in channel cost disputes CONSTANTLY. last year they couldn't watch saints games because of a FOX dispute. No way I'd deal with that.
