I've been having to buy a special food for a long time due to allergies. I no longer have to do that. This will be for a sedentary mutt. I don't want total crap, but super high end seems like overkill. No Costco. No mail order. What's good and not super expensive?

I use Taste of the Wild Sierra Mountain.

My dog had some skin problems and tried a bunch of different foods including high end ones and she's doing the best on this food.

Wellness. Better diet just creates fewer health problems.

I used taste of the wild for many years. I switched to Purina Pro Plan last year for my dobie. He's getting older, and sedentary. He seems to be doing fine on it. It's a little cheaper than TOTW and the bag is a little bigger. If nothing else, his farts are slightly less toxic.

Victor isn't super premium. Super premium is the raw meat diet.

I mean $50 for a 40 pound bag of dog food that lasts me nearly two months it’s hard to say that’s super premium.

Victor is some great stuff

Sportmix. Several different flavors and types. I get mine at Tractor Supply.

I feel like it’s a really good middle of the road dog food in price and quality. My labs look good and perform well on it.

I was replying to you saying victor and super premium dog food and dude....

I’m just agreeing with wik in that I recommend victor and that I don’t believe it’s a super premium food

I know nothing about Victor. That line was from their website.

Looks like I can get it at Sutherlands. If it's truly cheaper than what I was buying before, it's on the list.

I honestly just use chewy to deliver it to my door. But it’s probably cuz I’m lazy and don’t feel like lugging it to and from my car

I am in an anti order mood for some reason. I can't defend it other than I usually figure out I need food at the last minute.

That’s why I have a sealable 60lb dog food container. And my dog goes through about a 40lb bag every two months.

Chewy let’s you schedule the interval that they automatically send out a bag of food. So mines set at 2 months. Works pretty darn well. Just gotta figure out the interval they go through them.

I'm paying about $300/mo for frozen raw, because I'm too lazy to cook

So I don't disagree with all the info on here but the dude is a human dentist...

Not exactly the profession I think of when I think dog food nutrition.

EDIT: To answer OP, lots of good options now a days. The Victor is good option. Others --- Solid Gold, Aacana, Wellness are all worth checking out. Avoid Zignature for now please.

Why not Costco? Their dog food ranks highly. You don't have to be a member to order online.

We don't have one, and I do not want to order.
