new 12 gauge

I am looking for a new 12 gauge for duck hunting. Only looking to shoot 3". I just got started in duck hunting and my current gun was my father's so it isn't something I want to be using in the marsh because it is sentimental and very heavy. I looked at an A300 ultima and I liked it but know very little about shotguns. Does anyone have any suggestions on a light, reliable 12 gauge that isn't extremely expensive?
Thank you
Thank you

Look at a Stoeger. Really good guns that won’t break the bank.

It’s going to be hard to beat the beretta. Check out the Benelli m2. It will come down to personal preference, but can’t go wrong with either.
I have heard good things about Retay but haven’t handled one

Benelli monefeltro or beretta A300. Both are spectacular values at their current prices.

Go to a sporting goods store and handle as many makes/models as you can. Point them, press the buttons, shoulder them, etc.
One will probably feel comfortable.
Most shotguns today are somewhat customizable, so get the store staff to refer you to a good gunsmith for fine tuning the gun you select.
It’s about fit and function.

Franchi Affinity. Won’t break the bank, and a great shooting gun.

We bought a couple Winchester SX4 Bottomlands a few years ago and have shot the hell out of them with no complaints at all. Use them for duck, dove, turkey, you name it. They run about $1000.

Super X can’t be beat. I’ve shot them all. This is the only gun to get.

A300 would do you well. I have the Outlander, from before they updated to the Ultima. Great gun.

A used Benelli m1 super 90 is a very good gun.

Lower down to a 20 gauge and get a SX4.
Start shooting heavy shot. It’ll perform just as well as a 12 without the weight or recoil

I think it was for him, not his wife

Thanks for all the responses.
Has anyone had any experience with the Franchi Affinity's? If so, what do you think about them?

I have a Stoeger m3000 and Benelli M2
Love them both. The Stoeger is half the price but kicks twice as hard. It’s still super reliable and can shoot as fast as you want to. I’d recommend the Stoeger over them all for the price.

“I just got started in duck hunting“
Are you in a duck hunting lease? Surface drive for weekly trips? If you are only going to hunt a few times a year and want to save $ get a pump action. Benelli Nova is a work horse that will shot anything.

A lot of birds have been sent to heaven by pump action Remington 870s and Mossberg 500s. They also substitute as paddles when necessary and will still function as normal. You don't have to break the bank for a duck gun.
A300 is a fine firearm and hard to beat though.

I like my Benelli Nova pump.
It's an indestructible beast.
