That is the next logical move. Bring the pain for everyone.

I thought the bulk of the truckers were union and the union opposed all of this. What has changed?

Uhh….the desire for personal freedoms is greater than the fear of a tyrannical regime? There’s always a breaking point.

I understand all of that but someone on here said that the onion truckers could not strike without the union being in support of it. That is my only question, has the union changed its mind? If all truckers were able to strike it would have to cause a quick end to the mandates or the little dictator would be taken out. I just assumed all of the convoy truckers were independents. This place is to quick to jump on thoughts or questions where no opinion for or against is offered.

I know first hand the Union workforce where I work is at best 20-30% in solidarity with the union Dim politics. Most people are part of the union because it’s nearly a condition of employment not because they’re down with the Dim insanity.

The union bosses hate "scab" truckers. Union membership has been dropping over the last 2 decades. This strike and the protests threaten their influence.

That's why I chuckle when the media thinks it's a gotcha that the trucker unions don't support the protests. Of course they don't. They support the politicians who's palms they grease. Unions are pro government.

I’m sure the union LEADERSHIP opposes this.

The truckers themselves? They probably are in sympathy with their non-union brethren.

Can't speak for Canada but I'd be willing to bet that less than 5% of truckers in this country are union. When is the last time that you have seen a Roadway, Yellow, or ABF truck on the road. The Teamsters are dead, as they should be.

Back in the day, they really made lives better for workers but unions have outlived their usefulness decades ago. They are just a scam and cause the cost of just about everything to go up. They all but destroyed the domestic auto industry. But, some are stronger than others but I know nothing of unions in Canada or their strengths to dictate what their truckers can or can't do there.

A fraction of them probably do. But I've come across countless unionized truckers who see non-unionized drivers as competition and threats to their job stability. They look down on the rest of them.

I can always tell when the facility I arrive at is probably unionized because of the "that's not my job" attitude of the workers and how they do the bare minimum. It almost always takes considerably longer to get loaded/unloaded than at non-union places.

Can you name one of these union companies that these countless unionized drivers are working for? They can look down at them all they want. They're the ones that are irrelevant and part of a tiny minority.

I have only worked in one hospital where the nurses were unionized and that was absolutely the mind set.

Over time Union leaders tend to get chummy with their government lawmakers because they want them to make laws favorable to the union.

At that point the Union leadership is going to be asked by government to steer the union membership in a government friendly direction and they, being all chummy, will cooperate. Effectively the rank and file get sold out, to an extent.

Eventually the rank and file will have to revolt against their own leadership and reassert themselves.

Mostly Teamsters or some other a local union. I can tell by their jackets and hats. Some grocery chains have drivers that are unionized like Kroger which is huge, and Albertson's-Safeway.

The organizers better find a deep hole. Trudeau has proven he’ll use any means to enforce his will.

Safeway and Albertons are popular out here, but I don't understand why. They're both awful.

But in the trucking industry, they're still a tiny fraction of the total picture of logistics companies. Even if Walmart went union, it would still be a tiny fraction of what the Teamsters were in the 70s and 80s.

There are literally thousands of trucking companies in this country and I'd be willing to be that 95+ percent of them aren't union.

Yep they played nice now it’s time to bring the pain. Show these elitist asshats what power the working man truly has. Grind the supply chain to a complete halt.
