Church and religion in general plays a big role in our politics and daily lives. They run like a business but are tax exempt which causes questionable behaviors in their financials.

If we were to tax churches, there would be more transparency of spend and we can feel better about supporting the right goals. Why not tax em

We need fewer taxes, not more.

I am agnostic about the issue.

No

First, expanding taxation isn't the answer to...anything

Second, giving a government increasingly hostile to religion/people of faith another tool to use against them is obviously problematic.

This would guarantee ALL churches run like business. Only the big business ones would survive

Progressives usually push for taxing churches because they view churches as a bastion of right-wingers.

The truth is that black churches openly preach politics from the pulpit and are vital in supplying voters during election season.

They don’t own a fleet of church vans to transport people to bingo night.

Government being more intrusive is not the answer. Have you seen the crooks that run this country?

I don’t care either way, but you should never tax an entity for the sake of transparency.

Hell yeah. There is no way people should be able to open a church with ease then every dollar they get is tax free. That opens up the door for all kind if corrupt shite to go.
