Question About Cruises

I never purchase the drink package because my wife and I are both required to have one, and she doesn’t drink nearly as much for it to be worth it. So we will get a few drinks a day. However, she’s currently pregnant, and If we decided to go on a cruise, would there be a way I could prove this to perhaps only have to pay for one drink package for the room?

I cannot speak for all cruise lines but with Royal Caribbean all you have to do is call and they'll only require you to get the deluxe alcohol package but will require her to get the refreshment package.
They allow this even if she isn't pregnant; all you have to do is ask and give them the reason (she doesn't drink, she's pregnant, health reasons, etc)

So you are required to purchase an alcohol package in addition to the normal cruise price? That seems like a total racket.
I don’t drink alcohol, would I be forced to buy the alcohol package anyway?

You can just go to any bar and get drinks all day, but the drinks range from $8-$16 depending if you want beer to a mixed drink, and a tip is added every time. Then drink package for carnival is like $60/day per person in the room. I’m okay with $60 cause that’s a few mixed drinks throughout the day, but I wouldn’t want to pay $120 a day knowing my wife can’t drink any of it

I think what you mean is if both of you are in the same cabin, and one wants a drink package they make both purchase a drink package. But if you talk to your TA or the cruise line itself.
I'm sure there are some abilities to make allowances for a pregnancy.
