My heart goes out to the Ukrainian people and we should help supply them in their effort but if Europeans are not willing to fight for this why should we. Don’t give a shite if Putin takes Germany, he’s not and can’t come here. China on the other hand is a real threat.

OK, so because the US has made mistakes that makes us ineligible to try to hold other countries accountable. And because of this we can't say Russia has no right to invade a sovereign country, recognized by hundreds of other countries as sovereign?

So because of our past mistakes, is it now just might makes right? Russia can invade a sovereign independent neighboring country for whatever reason they want and we can't say, "Hey, citizens of this sovereign country don't want to be subjugated by you and they have a right to self-determination?" I think, as imperfectly as that theory has been implemented as you point out, that one of the founding principles of the US is self-determination. It's a principle, an ideal, and ideals are never met perfectly, but are perfections worth constantly striving towards. I'm not advocating total war with anyone, but shouldn't we point out when wrong is wrong?

NATO isn't trying to recruit Ukraine to pressure Russia as Russian claims, falsely as any objective observer can see. If Ukraine, and their neighbors are trying to join NATO it's because they were subjugated by Russia/the Soviet Union for years- millions were starved in the Ukranian famine of 32-33. How justly are we correct to oppose vaccine mandates; how about a country trying to re-invade yours after starving your great-grandparents?

Russia didn't stop with it's invasion of Crimea, now they want Ukraine and are making demands about Romania and Bulgaria.

Andy why? These poor little countries pose no threat to Russia, except that their citizens want freedom; Putin wants no freedom, so having free democracies near him threatens him and his power. What right does Russia have to dictate what happens in the independent countries of Ukraine, Romania and Bulgaria, countries which they invaded and occupied and brutally subjugated after WWII? What is unique about these countries that allow Russia to dictate? Does that apply to all former Eastern block countries?

The Germans are the damn problem! Most European nations are doing their part, but the Germans are fricking it up by not supporting other Nato members. The bigger questions is what do the Russian accomplish by taking the Ukraine? Many of the former Warsaw Pact countries are now part of Nato.
