You should re-read the thread. No jealousy here (it is funny you would think someone would think riding in Endymion would be somethingto be jealous of)...look at the OP.

I have 2 ex-employees that ride in Endymion. They can barely pay child support and their current rent, but they sure are proud of their Endymion medallions and float.

Its a great parade, but there is plenty of pretend money in it. The OP insulted "poors"...I can assure you there are at least 2 amongst you.

I never would have responded to the thread if it were not for the last line of his post.

I appreciate all Endymion did for this city. It commercialized Mardi Gras. I make money every year from it.

I do annual business with their number one (EM and family) and their number 2 (DK). Endymion is a great parade.

My issue is with the OP standing on Endymion as if it were some throne to insult poors.

Thats actually the opposite of their original intent as an organization.

I'm not here to get caught up in the politics of the Krewes. I've been riding for several years now, we have a blast and try to throw as much as we can. I'm there to have a good time and I hope everyone at the parade does as well.

Fun fact: they are one year older than Bacchus and for their first parade they rolled in Gentilly in Carrolltons floats.

You want real fun? Try Isis in Kenner on Saturday night!

That’s why I prefer the other krewe’s, all of their members have a minimum 7-figure net worth…

So you know two guys, out of 3200 members, that “struggle to pay rent”? Well, I’ll have to tell the doctors, attorneys, dentists, business owners, and CFP’s that it’s time to shut it down, and go join a real money organization.

In response to OP’s obvious and played out joke, 90% of the thread is arguing about which group of men who pay thousands of dollars in dues to throw thousands of dollars’ worth of plastic shite out into a crowd is rich and which group is poor. What a dumpster fire of a thread.

I’ll never understand the obsession with all the Mardi Gras BS. I’ve lived in Louisiana my entire life and only attended two small parades and zero balls. One of the two parades my sister was the Queen, so I kinda had to.

The funniest thing is, there’s probably a fairly even gamut of wannabe money, lost money holding on, and REAL money, across each of the orgs discussed here, with the only difference being that some of the REAL money will typically trend a bit older, the older the organization.

That doesn’t excuse the OP’s douchiness of course.
