And what of it brother?

You previously stated: “We need all the energy we can get guys…. Solar, nuclear, oil and gas.”

I was pointing out that an independent Texas doesn’t need solar energy.

Um… it literally has the most solar or second most (I forget) of any state. Some of the largest farms in the world are in Texas my man. They might not “need” it, but all that energy being harvested from the sun is happening in your state

Where did I say otherwise?

I said: We don’t need it.

I’m still not understanding your point though. Okay, in your opinion Texas doesn’t need solar. Well, others think differently as I’ve stated. ??? Sooo

I’m calling it now. More people will die from “climate change” solutions over the next 10 years than would have without the “solutions” forced upon us.

And that may be the big answer as to why it is being crammed down our throats

You’re reading too much into it.
Again, I was replying to your post about how much we “need” solar energy.
I disagreed.
That’s it.

Why are they called “renewables” when it requires fossil fuels and other materials extracted from the earth to manufacture them?

Thanks Dr for the data showing power output from solar panels decreases a pretty large amount as ambient temperatures increase. I've never been told that before.

Everything produced comes from the earth guy. Almost literally everything… except solar energy.

For a year, huh?

What happens when the year is up? It can still power it, right?

Yes

Each year it could power a city of 100,000 people

They have a 25 year cautious 100% operational shelf life

They are smaller than a small house in total size

The reactors currently sitting on US Navy carriers and submarines could power the city of Chicago for 25 years alone

They probably take up less space than a single building in Lincoln Park

Not completely accurate. Module temp does not equal ambient temp.

Nuclear energy cannot overcome "green and renewable" idiots. They will point to Chernobyl and Fukushima as examples to kill any new nuclear plants

The UK had 3 days where the temperature got above 82. 3...damn...days.

One day an area hit 104 and then returned to 64 degrees later that night.

Heat wave my arse...send that heat wave my way please.

It's all a sad joke.

So they don't work in the heat of summer and don't work in the cold of winter? So spring and fall?

You can’t harness and use a single nanowatt of solar energy without using non-renewable materials from the earth.

False. They work fine, their efficiency changes. If you have a properly sized system and quality components you'll barely notice the difference.

You can certainly argue the mining and manufacturing aspect for solar modules, but the renewable aspect is in the power generation (i'm sure everyone knows this). one thing for sure is we do extensive energy assessment during the development phase and we wouldn't sign a 25 year PPA putting us on the hook if there was a chance we couldn't hit that P50 number.

Thats something people tend to gloss right over. There are 100k+ unit residential fleets with 98%+ P90 production indexes.

It takes a lot to make that happen.

Are these million dollar companies just throwing away cash and investing badly by putting their efforts into areas that would be problematic to efficiently produce energy?
I've literally bought PPAs off companies that installed solar just for the PR. They didn't give to ishts about the power generated. And, I know of one that built a ground mount system (more expensive that roof mount, even though they had plenty of roof) so it was visible from the interstate.
