We’re looking to do an all-inclusive next summer, instead of going to 30A. Just to try something different. Among 3 families, kids range from 7-15. We would like good food, booze, and things for kids to do. We would also prefer to maybe go to Mexico so we can do a direct flight but open to other options.

Can you all provide some recommendations for us? Really appreciate it.

Do you and the kids like the ocean?

Take a trip to the Bahamas Out Island.

Andros, Island -- Small Hope Bay Lodge

Let the kids participate in discover scuba. The youngest can even do sassy (like scuba, but the tank floats at the surface and has a long hose for the regulator mouthpiece and the kid can only go down about 8 feet.) Great fishing (flats, reef, deep sea, are all incredible.

Fantasic food. Incredible service. And you will be in a small environment that is secure to let your kids explore a truly unspoiled island location.

I was at the Hilton La Romana Resort in the Dominican Republic in May. I traveled with my adult daughter and had a great time on the adult-only side of the resort. We went there because I had Hilton points to spend, and there's a 5-star scuba center onsite, but I would otherwise say that the adult side of the resort, while really nice, is otherwise similar to a lot of Caribbean resorts.

But the family side has a waterpark that looked like it would be really fun for kids. There's a Facebook group called Hilton la Romana Fans & Guests Info Group, if you want to ask questions and see lots of guest reviews and comments.

Iberostar Cancun

The Sargassum in the summer can be a problem if they want turquoise, blue water. We just got back from Playa del Carmen. The grass is going to ruin some major aspects of tourism.

For recommendations, we just got back from Paradisus Playa del Carmen. It was fantastic until we all got COVID, but that's a different story. Sounds like all of the kids are old enough to either stay in a room with each other or do the kid's clubs if you guys wanted to do an adults dinner on the adults only side. The service was impeccable, the drinks were fantastic, and the food was above average. Check out Tripadvisor. It has something liek 14,000 reviews and 4.5 *****

We went there last Sept and the Sargassum was awful but really did like the resort. My only complaint was the lack of evening activities inside under AC. It was insanely hot at those night time events.

You need to stay at a better quality resort.

OP, another place that I can recommend for a family stay is the Hyatt Ziva Cancun. Among other things, the food was really good there, and the kids really liked the sweet shop. The great thing about the Ziva is that it sits out on a point, so there's beach on both sides of the hotel.

You want Hotel Xcaret. Price includes entry to all their parks and multiples tours and excursions. BEAUTIFUL property. No worries about sargassum there because they have so many lagoons and rivers to swim in. Also look at Generations by Karisma, Finest Resort by Excellence, and Estudio Playa Mujeres, Hyatt Ziva and Grand at Moon Palace.

Beaches: white soft sand, no waves because of the barrier reef.

Water as clear as tap water. Beautiful shades of blue and turquoise.

Until you visit a Bahamas out island, you truly can not comprehend the beauty of unspoiled waters and beaches.

No concrete. No hirise resorts. No crowds.

Small Hope Bat Lodge has 18 separate cabins, no concrete in between them, when you arrive, take off your shoes and don’t expect to put them back on until the day you leave (or unless you go for a hike/tour the island). Even at dinner, you’re outside and no shoes is the norm.

Wasn't Iberostar the resort where they were drugging the guests and some died?
If so, would not recommend.
