There are not many DBs that turn their heads around when the ball is in the air. Stingley conditioned himself to turn his head anytime the WR is looking for the ball.

Stingley was a once-in-a-generation talent.

I remember whenever he was warming up with the team prior to their bowl, he was 1 week out of high school and Dave Aranda was saying he had the quickest feet of anybody on the team

Not sure what Stingley was. He was rated high. Played great as a freshman and then mailed it in. Potential was there but effort wasn’t. Get mad all you want but it’s true.

So what Stingley did his freshman year was an accident? That dude was the best CB in 2019 out of all players in CFB. His freshman year was as good as any CB ever, including Prime Time, Darrelle Revis, Patrick Peterson, Champ Baily, Woodson, etc. He completely shut down that side of the field. After that almost interception against Texas on the left sideline, they never threw again at him. Freak!!

No, a national champ who was the best defensive player on the best team in LSU (and CFB) history who ended up getting drafted #3 overall.

Our fanbase sucks sometimes. Not sure why some of us are so quick to turn on guys who have been some of the best players in our program history

How do you know he was a primadonna? Do you know the guy? Know people in the organization around him?

I know both and nothing has ever come off as primadonna. He was pretty seriously injured and everyone kept giving him crap for it. It sucks but no reason to shite on someone.

Nobody's a Stingley type. Stingley was the best freshman football player in LSU history. I'd be fine if he was an Eli Ricks or Kristian Fulton or Tre White or Mo Claiborne type. Those are realistic hopes. Stingley's football skills and Pat P's athletic ability are once a generation type stuff.
