Did not pre-order and wasn’t really planning on getting one. Loved my Mach 1 on the street and the track. But I did miss my C7 Grand Sport. Just happened to browse the dealer’s website, saw they had some, and went to check it out just for the hell of it. Couldn’t pass it up - 2023 2LT Z51 at MSRP. The dealer got 7 more than their expected allocation - mine was the 6th they sold in 4 days, and the 7th one sold a day or so later.

The X5Ms are a performance bargain for the money considering what you have to spend to beat it in a straight line and on the twisties in another SUV.

Yes, it’s hypersonic gray metallic. My C7 Grand Sport I got rid of a couple years ago was Sebring Orange and I loved that one, and my previous C7 was red. But just like you said, I wasn’t digging the reds, oranges, yellows etc. on the C8. I had never seen the HGM color before and wasn’t really planning on buying. But once I saw it, I couldn’t resist - especially with it being available at MSRP. I had also never seen the low rear spoiler before. Not a fan of the raised spoilers on the C8s.
With the combination of the color, low spoiler, nice rims…it just had a sleek and classy look to it. Had to snatch it up. Someone’s silver flare C8 was in the parking lot that day and I had never seen that color before either. That color looks amazing too.

I’m a bargain shopper, I wanted that new Mercedes SUV but it was a pretty big price jump.

The one that made it to CandB sold for over 200k. TTL, auction fees and shipping probably brings that total to around 230-240k

Gorgeous. Got ours last year and have enjoyed the hell out of it. Dangerous for my lead foot, though.
