She will likely stay in Louisiana since she is from there. But with her name/legacy and the portal "rebuilding" wouldn't be a real thing at most power 5s. She could load up right away.

KM is obviously way more proven than Coach O was but when they extended and increased his contract it was a real head-scratcher for me from a business standpoint even though he was successful. He didn't have another offer that he was going to take seriously. The preemptive pay raises at LSU that constantly have to be bought out makes it seem like they're playing with other peoples' money and aren't that responsible.. One-time bonuses makes the most sense. Like hey, you win a 'ship you get $4 million or whatever.

Type "kim Mulkey Contract .pdf" into your google search browser and you'll find her term sheet.
Coach Mulkey, salary + bonuses + incentives will bank at least $3,014,000 for this championship run. THere's another $20K or so in APR related bonuses that she may also qualify for.
She signed an 8 year deal. Year 2 ends June 30th and her salary goes up $75k for the next year.
She's doing well.

I think it’s a little naive for some here to think Mulkey doesn’t push for a bigger deal. Sports agents don’t generally waste their client’s high leverage situations…
ETA: if she’s in year 2 of an 8 year deal, LSU doesn’t have to give her some crazy new contract, but if she asks for a reasonable raise (or maybe more NIL funds, or facilities) the AD will probably want to keep the coach that just won them a championship, and could build a dynasty, happy
