Anyone have thoughts on which of the following two options to pick for Mardi Gras 2025 (early March)? I'll be using Hyatt points for lodging and miles for flights - flying into SLC or EGE - so cost of that is not a consideration. We are a family of 3 with one pretty good skier, one intermediate skier, and what will be a 10 year old snowboarder on his 3rd trip (would probably take a couple days of lessons). We may eat out a night or two, but would also go to the grocery and cook some meals at our room.
1. Vail in Lionshead at Montaneros.
2. Park City at the Hyatt Centric in the Canyons.
None of us have skied either location. I'm leaning Vail, but the direct flight to SLC is tempting. We all generally stay on piste, so not looking for a ton of off trail terrain.

I would say Vail if you don’t plan on going out. Will be equal or less crowded than Park City with the same amount of variety when it comes to terrain.

You’ll be about a 10 minute walk from the main Vail village if you’re in Lions Head. LH still offers some options though for food/booze or entertainment.
LH has its own lift so no issues there.
In Vail, you’ll be in the village. You can shoot over to Beaver Creek or Breck if you wanted to change it up for a day. You’ll have a lot more options your way being in the I-70 corridor.
Park City is a sweet town. I’d much prefer PC as a town over Vail. The closer proximity to SLC is much better than Denver though.
You can’t go wrong with either imo. I’d probably pick Vail though. The village is legit.
Plan your travel for both to avoid morning commutes out to your hotels from the airports and evening returns back to the city for your flights. Especially if you’re planning on returning back on a Sunday.

There’s a Grand Hyatt in Beaver that’s a great option.
