Thanks Abita - ultimately would like to go to the can’t miss places. Whatever price point. Pizza and up to fine dining

I'll add Pauli's (right next door to Neptune) to the list. They don't have the seafood selection that Neptune provides but, they offer two variations (classic cold or hot buttered) of lobster rolls that are stuffed full of meat.

Trying to remember the Italian place on the North End (because there's a million) but it's escaping me. I just remember a little nonna who spoke very little English and had even less patience with my wife.

I would say Row 34 for seafood is a can’t miss, and the entire experience of going to Yvonne’s is definitely worth doing.

And if you can only do one more meal, I’d say you have to go Italian at least once, in which case I’d go with Mamma Maria.

Three very different dining experiences and foods, all excellent.

When you put your name down at Neptune’s there is an Italian place just to the left next door (at least a couple of years ago). We had wine there while we waited and ended up going back for lunch a day later. It was damn good in its own right.

There is Toro a couple of blocks from Flour in South End on Washington. It is really good and have the razor clams if they have them. Toro in New York wasn’t nearly as good.

It’s gone downhill. Used to be a good spot.

drive over to Melrose and eat at Giacomo's for some kick arse Italian food (great atmosphere too)

for steak, I thought Boston Chops was excellent as well

Kelly's roast beef sandwich (strong preference to the Revere Beach location).
D'Angelo lobster roll.
Harpoon Brewing pretzel.

I'm a man of the people & my offerings reflect as much.

on a short visit to Boston if you just ate at Yvonne’s, Neptune, Michael’s and any north end Italian you’d be in good shape

When I was poor and 22, I worked at a laundry place in Jamaica plains neighborhood of Boston after moving from Ohio. I’d take my meals at a dank Irish bar named Corrib.

Not at all remarkable, but damn if I don’t miss that mediocre food and simpler times in life.

If you find yourself near Coolidge Corner, Dok Bua presents elite Thai food.

Had Yvonne’s last night - can confirm the place is a vibe and the food was great. Heading to Neptune’s now and have Mamma Maria’s on the reservation for tomorrow night.

Row 34 for lunch is so easy and not crowded. I wouldn’t go for dinner. Way too crowded and tough to get a reservation.

Carmelina’s for Italian food is great

Dolce Vita Ristorante (Italian)
maps

We went here around cinco de mayo. The owner serenaded the dining room later in the night with the staff playing instruments and back up. It was awesome. I got the swordfish. There was a bigger variety of things on the menu than a typical Italian place. Atmosphere was great.

I’m headed to Boston for a day in Dec with my teenage son. Are there any can’t miss places for lunch that are in the vicinity of Fenway, Harvard, or somewhere between that’s not too far out of the way.
