There were plenty of scouts around watching him pitch in fall and this winter and he was dominant, up to 99

I think people misunderstood me when I said “just stupid”. That means ridiculous ie how talented he is.

Now that we are 200 picks in, is it safe to assume that the rest of our draft class (those not drafted at this point) will be coming to LSU?

Not to be a dick but damn you and other posters keep popping in and asking this or a similar question. Do the work us other less knowledgeable of mlb posters are and read the pages and you’ll know the answer

Anyone else shocked Cam Johnson hasn't been taken? I was just reading this article about the kid

LINK

quote:

Johnson “outshone every pitcher who threw at the (MLB Draft) Combine,” MLB.com’s draft guru Jim Calls wrote this past week from Phoenix. And as MLB’s master statistician Sarah Langs pointed out on Wednesday’s telecast, the 95.9 miles per hour that Johnson’s fastball averaged in his Combine bullpen session would have placed him behind only two major-league southpaws in 2023, the Rays’ Shane McClanahan and the Marlins’ Jesus Lazardo, both of whom stood at a 96.7 average at the time of the Combine. Johnson actually hit 100 mph three times in a game this past season, according to IMG varsity assistant coach/pitching coordinator Steve Frey
.

A 6'5" 240 pitcher sitting in the mid to high 90's with the ability to reach back and touch triple digits snd he's a lefty? Come on

Sounds crazy when you put it like that, but at this point I'm just gonna roll with it and hope for the best!

It's puzzling to me too unless the kid has stuck to a really high asking price.

I've been hesitant to think much about Cam actually suiting up for the Tigers, but it is getting interesting now.

Jay said that he has been selling him on coming to LSU and leaving as the number one pick in the draft.

I think I read that his father is pro LSU.

I can see where he has a high asking price. I'm just a little surprised teams aren't willing to pay it.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but after today, it's hard not to start dreaming.

Having Skenes go first overall certainly didn’t hurt his pitch…

Not mention the hiring of Yeskie, who had a history of developing lefties

Looks like we are only losing Blake Mitchell.

That's unreal.

Most of us has been here, and know that the hen is not in the hen house until it's all said and done.

I've been keeping up, with a glass is half full. If we keep all these guys awesome. I will fill that glass and chug it.

But seems like every year we get excited about one or two guys and at the last second, some team flies in like the grim reaper and snatches them up.

But this year feels so different with jay as our coach. He seems to have a plan and knows what he is doing. Couldn't feel better knowing we have in charge.
