Awesome. Good to know.

horrible high school stadium and is in a terrible section of town
Have been going to that stadium for more than 20 years. Concerts, Soccer (World Cup '94), regular season games, and Bowls games. NEVER had an issue with the surroundings. Yes, you have to be smart.
The people that live there have a financial interest in making sure that it is "safe." Parking is a big source of income. I have never felt unsafe and the locals down there have been very friendly. Is it perfect? No.
Orlando Police headquarters is one block away from the stadium. Lots of police presence.
That area is improving ever year as there is a renewal movement for downtown.

Where should we go to watch the games on Saturday?
Depends on where you are staying.
I-Drive area, there are tons of sports bars.
Downtown has a few places.
Restaurant Row on Sand Lake Rd. is a good spot. It's by Universal and the attractions.
LSU Alumni have viewings at Walk Ons at I-Drive and in Davenport.

Craft Breweries / Eateries
Craft Beer
Another List
Broken Strings is right on Church St. about 2 blocks from stadium.
Big Storm is actually in the bottom of the TD Waterhouse on Church Street. Good beer and good food.

thank you very much. I am staying in an air bnb on lake Formosa it's about 5 miles north of camping world. I have zero experience with the area, so everything and anything helps me tremendously.

Maybe it would be a bad idea in the end, but I think Chicken should consider a DM system, or is there a way to reach out to individuals that I don't know about?
Message me for any info/tips.
Lake Formosa area should be really good for food and entertainment. You are close to Mills and Lake Ivanhoe. Both of those areas have great options. Ivanhoe Brewing, Hammered Lamb, GB Bottle Shop, and more.

Awesome post! Thanks a bunch for all this info.
Regarding this question…
I’d like to ask the exact same question but for a Vrbo in Emerald Island Resort.

I’m at an Airbnb on Center Street. How close are we to a bar with college football and cold beer on Saturday for opening weekend??

I love how people are warning to "be careful", "bad part of town" etc. Ya'll do realize that if you aren't afraid in New Orleans and certain parts of Baton Rouge, this should be just like home.

You were not hugged enough as a child.
Just like EVERY city, Orlando has it's rough spots.
Don't be such a tool.
