Perhaps.

But he was the only HC since the early 90's to consistently take LSU to the NCAAT. Given that the current coach appears to have the program as far away from NCAAT as reasonably possible for a power conf. program, and 35 years of history suggest consistently reaching the NCAAT is not a given for this program, I can understand why people would want to go with the known commodity.

If Bruce Pearl, Scott Drew, Mark Few, etc, etc, somehow want the LSU job, then you roll out the red carpet for them and completely forget about Wade. But any other mid major hire would be just as much of a risk as McMahon whereas Wade already proved he is a "sure thing" in terms of reaching the NCAAT.

Again, I don't think for one second LSU would hire him back. I'm just telling there would be logical reasons for both sides to consider it.

You are. Because this didn't happen....

Wade lie to Scott's face when questioned about Wade paying players using his wife's checkbook

If Wade told Woodward he wasn't using his wife's checkbook to pay players he would be telling the truth...because the IARP never found anything like that to be factual.

It's a fallacy that, evidently, was thrown out there by the media. One that gets repeated on here daily despite it being false.
