A few things. I was listening to an industry podcast, I can't remember which one, but here are some nuggets I picked up on.

1. The GX/Land Cruiser/4Runner are basically the same vehicle. They are differentiated by price and components. Just a progression.

2. The 300 Land Cruiser has a 4.5 year backorder in Japan. That's crazy.

3. Toyota thinks that Lithium based battery power is a dead end. Their electrification will be hybrids with the much more reliable Nickel Hydride until solid state becomes reality.

Which podcast? That sounds interesting.

I have a 99 TJ that I drive offroad (very little with 2 small kids) and a 2008 2Runner.... I would love to grab a ~2015 4runner and take the 5k for my 08, but the 15's are still going for like 25K, just seems crazy to me.

I don’t claim to be an expert car person when it comes to parts, so what is the reason for at AT4s and I guess all Yukon/tahoes having that super low suspension in the rear? Seems like you might be able to hop over a small twig and that’s it

The version I've been eyeing. I love my 2010 4Runner, but she's getting a little long in the tooth.

I think that’s the “first edition” & will be top trim. You can get the round headlights with the base 1958 edition too

It’s just what happens when you put independent rear suspension on a body-on-frame vehicle. The geometry is a bit weird and the mounting points are low, so the lower control arms wind up way down there.

Soft ride I’d guess. Solid axle is best, independent rear is trash.

Kind of surprised that the new Lexus LX isn't a bigger seller. I've only seen a handful in the wild.

The LX had a huge waitlist. I’ve heard that many of those deposits were shifted to the GX. Most LXs are spec’d at a $108k MSRP. The Overtrail+ GX will have a significant ADM for a few months. $75k MSRP + $15k ADM… I’m going with the LX in that situation. There are base LXs out there with no AHC that MSRP for $95k but those seem to be rare.

After talking with the lady who has sold me my last 3 Lexus, the reasoning is price and the updated interior. If you aren't buying the UL edition, the GX's interior knocks it out of the park.

Another vehicle you cant really get on demand right now is the IS 500. We spent an hour trying to find one for me and they dont exist in the spec I want

I have a deposit down on an Overtrail+. My dealer has no ADM on the GX, although he said to expect up to $5k in factory/port installed options (ML sound system, cool box, HUD, all weather mats,…), which I would have gotten anyway. Price should come in just below $82k pre tax.

It may have been one of the TFLs at an auto show with an interview with a Toyota guy.

Or, it could have been one of many automotive YouTube rabbit holes.

Love TFL they give honest reviews. The tried fitting three adults in the back of the new tacoma and it wasn’t happening.

Yeah & that’s absurd…try that with any midsize truck. If you need backseat for adults, buy a full size.
