Which would eventually lead to segregation into 2 Americas, what would be the republicans first pick?

Democrats would pick California, strongest economy beautiful nature etc. would we go for Mississippi? Alabama? Florida?

With California off the board, you have to go Texas, then in a snake draft you’ll start round 2 by grabbing Florida. They’ll pick New York and start round 3 by picking Illinois

I think Rhode Island gets last pick. Louisiana at least has some natural resources.

I’d say it goes

1. Ca
2. TX ( do we count them? Not sure)
3. Florida
4. NY
5. Washington

Assuming this would be for starting a new country and the country could have some input on the control of the states, Louisiana would probably be pretty high. Control of the MS river, and not having a dem state along the Gulf coast

Vermont has to go last. At least Rhode Island has access to the Atlantic. Vermont offers nothing.

Louisiana

My #3 pick.
Behind Texas and Florida.
Holding access to Mississippi River is crucial.

Wouldn’t give a rat’s arse about Washington. They’re lost forever!

Rhode Island, Delaware, Connecticut, Hawaii, New Hampshire, and Vermont would be well after LA.

Even if I were the dems in this scenario, the above offer me nothing over all southern states.

LA has resources and geography in its favor (mouth of the MS), as it has several of the busiest ports in the country in NOLA and BR.

It won’t be last for the same reasons that we bought the entire western US from Napoleon to begin with.
