Just like you've never seen your baseball team beat LSU when LSU is using weekend pitching. 2015 Super Regional was a LSU sweep. Last night was a LSU win.
But every once in a while on a Wednesday you guys have a chance.

I was involved w/ the Student Government Association at NLU some years ago when the University of Louisiana name change first came up; IIRC it was strongly supported by USL. It was offered to NLU and the others in the UL school system at that time; everyone at NLU laughed at the proposal. It was my understanding then that many at USL thought of themselves as a co-flagship university w/ LSU. I thought ULL would one day try to rebrand themselves as "The University of Louisiana." It took>20 years, but they eventually succeeded. Lawson Swearingen replaced Dr. Vines as president of NLU and championed the name change to ULM. I have a friend whose son graduated from ULL. If you go to the campus you'll see all the banners and signs say, "University of Louisiana" in huge letters.......w/ "Lafayette" in tiny letters at the very bottom or not at all. The school's website, www.louisiana.edu, doesn't even have the word Lafayette in it.

Why did ULM admin just sit by when ULL pulled all of their Louisiana nonsense? They are in the same conference, how did they not step up and say "hey, that is not their name and we are not their satellite campus."
ULM got cucked more than anyone.

True story. Last night we found ourselves sitting behind four folks wearing ULL jerseys for #27, Holzhammer. We had a cordial visit w/ them as the game started. It turned out family was #27's aunt, mom, dad and grandfather. Later during the game LSU chased out ULL's starter and guess who came in....#27. Mom was initially really excited, then became extremely nervous given the situation. Unfortunately for them, he ended giving up 3 runs on hits by Travinski and Jones. Having watched my kids succeed, as well as fail in sports, I knew how they felt and offered my sympathies to the family. They handled it well.

Lafayette has 10K more students with a $232 million endowment. Monroe with a $73 million endowment.
Lafayette is clearly the more deserving here.
