Nothing against the guys who chose to play in this event, but Gooch has 2 kids at home (1 newborn). I don’t blame him for wanting to go home after being away for 2 weeks.
He shouldn’t have to fight for OWGR pts to prove he “deserves” to play in majors. He was the best golfer on LIV last season & currently a top 50 golfer by any rankings other than OWGR.

The problem is he’s not fighting at all. He knew what he was walking into and what the possibilities were when he left for LIV.
Niemann went all around the world to play in events because he knew that’s what it would take. Gooch is making outlandish comments and doing nothing to make his situation better with respect to getting major invites.
