Much has been written about the upcoming limit change for red fish. The change will not happen before July or August so until that time will/would you self regulate and only keep your limit when fishing with a guide?
My last four trips i only had one day that we caught my limit, 15/10.

I generally stop boxing reds at three so it’s all the same for me. I wouldn’t keep guide fish unless there was someone I was dropping it off to that day. I’m all for guides not boxing fish.

then you dont know how to fish, you just know how to hold a fishing pole
how about you and the rest of the idiots frickoff and stop telling others what to do.
redfish numbers are higher then they have ever been since the gill net ban, they only want to reduce limits to help the commercial fishermen make more money.
based on the science of sample tests, redfish limits should be doubled, not reduced

I will comply with the CURRENT regulations, size limits, and bag limits.
Side note: I dont fish with a guide but would keep his limit too if I did.

Id love to see the numbers behind this.

Anecdotally, what I've found is that yes, redfish numbers are pretty good. I caught ten just last weekend.
Not just 10 but 10 that were all less than 22 inches. That's a GREAT sign.
But that's just anecdotal. I have not seen or read any data from any official accredited source that would indicate redfish are better off than at any point since gill nets. Certainly no data to indicate redfish limits should be doubled .

It took me awhile to realize you are just trolling. It’s actually impressive how you keep finding ways to outdo yourself

It’s such a nice change to have someone level headed posting here about something they are clearly an expert in. I didn’t know we were fortunate enough to have the waterways owner posting here.

How many commercial fishermen are targeting red fish in La?.

Please cite and produce these sample tests, would also like the location of the fish hatcheries in La.
You're one grump MF'er, you probably need to get LAID.

I have been going down for years, with family or friends that have camps. Last few years it has been spotty at best.

Per advocate- “That could come as early as June 20, or possibly July 20, at which time the new size and creel limits and other restrictions would take effect.“

I thought commercial red fishing in State or Federal waters was forbidden?
Regardless, slot and rat reds have been far more scarce in the Biloxi Marsh and out of Delacroix the last 2-3 years than years past. Yes, I can usually find some but not as easily when they were far more plentiful. Now, they're mostly bycatch as we chase specks.

Trust me, he knows how to fish. He even does a good job in helping others learn how to fish too....

I’ve been following TX limits of 10/2 specks/reds for a while now. I deviated when we had a crowd coming to houseboat during duck season and redfish was on the menu. I would only insist on guides limit if I was catching flounder.
