It is. And let me preface this by saying we'll be fine by the end of the year--don't think our ceiling is "great," but "good to really good"--but I do bet Jay wishes their was a little more certainty with the lineup going into this 1st weekend of SEC play. Nobody's taken the RF job and not it go, Kling has been given every opportunity to stick at leadoff and it looks like he'll have to earn his way back up there (if he does), and I'm not sure he knows exactly where White should be (2 or 3). Some depends on who can best protect him (in front of and behind him) and who you want to guarantee a 1st-inning at-bat.

And while guys like Milam and Bingham have probably earned every jobs, Jay still doesn't know where they should be. It's not as much about as where they'd be more successful as where they'd best serve the entire lineup. Have to make the sum better than the whole of its parts somehow.

On one hand, it kinda sucks to have so much uncertainty going into such a brutal beginning to SEC play, but on the other, it's gonna put guys in the fire real quick, and we'll see who wilts and who steps up. That's always one of my favorite parts of the progression of a college baseball season. Who's ready to drop their nuts and grow up and elevate? Can't wait to see who it winds up being on this team.
