Same old racism, different decade. Reminds me of when Miami played Notre Dame, convicts vs catholics. If you have a predominantly black team, you are thugs, criminals, and now, dirty debutantes. Shameful.

BS. A lot of college teams are a majority black especially with the ones who dress out and see the field. Are they labeled as convicts?
Miami was obviously good at football then and a rival to ND at the time which was having success again. 2 private schools going at each other with one overwhelming known as a Catholic school. It was made up by a student I think and just caught on. I think it got turned back on ND a little by Miami’s students when ND went to Miami later. I can’t remember what it was, but it’s not like catholic jokes don’t get pushed onto catholic schools. Rivals do this stuff all the time. This board said a lot of stuff about Bama, it’s players, and Saban.
Also, due to their fame and at times infamy Miami got a lot of press which put a focus on them more for anything, so more of the bad was going to come out than at other schools back before social media and so on. They also loved to be hated especially on the road. Silencing the crowd and making them leave early was almost better than the cheers of their fans at home. They played up the notorious angle.
