The excuses stop now. It’s time to go out on the court and show improvement. It’s quite funny how bipolar the rant users are. I’ve never seen people go from loving to hating a person solely based on recency bias. With McMahon it’s like the majority of people love or hate him based on the most recent win, the most recent loss, or the most recent recruit. It’s ridiculous. I will say though that I’ve been extremely optimistic in regards to the program and MBB regulars on TD would second that in a heartbeat. I want nothing more than LSU above all else to succeed. I also really like and respect McMahon as a person but I also have to be a realist and prioritize the program. The excuses have to stop. The SEC is getting stronger. If McMahon doesn’t show improvement next season that’s a problem, and I’d be worried. However I DO still believe in him and I DO think we will improve.

VJ looks like he will be a great player, so the class is strong, but they’re just freshmen. We lost a lot of experience and our best player in Wright, and some good pieces in Hannibal, Baker, Dean, Cook and Wilkerson, so although the talent will be better next year, they’re currently too young to expect the results to be as good. If we get a good and experienced point guard (maybe just keeping Cook, but hopefully even better) and a good post player, then I will expect improvement and a tournament bid. However I think the talent he has brought in will get us to the tournament the year after next. Whether we make it next year will depend on what we get in the portal this year. We’re almost there. CMM almost has all the pieces he needs for next year, but if holds on to them, then he should definitely have the pieces for the future.
