It was Spring Break in the Atlanta area public schools this past week. 30A locals call it “Hell Week.” Apparently, ATL area kids are the worst behaved of the kids who pass through the area for Spring Break. Been monitoring the Walton County Sheriff’s office posts on FB. It appears that many of the teens (the locals are all in agreement that it’s teenagers, not college students) are allowed to go to 30A unsupervised. Either their parents accompany them, but let them run freely, or they rent a house and a car for the week, and hand the kids the keys, and their credit card.

Miami has told the spring breakers to "go elsewhere". They are implementing things like curfews, bag checks and restricted beach access, DUI checkpoints, $100 parking and strong police enforcement for drug possession and violence.

I think kids are going to other areas of Florida. It won't be long before those other areas follow suit. I have heard that there are curfews in some areas of the panhandle.

You don't say. I'd ask colleagues flying into ATL when they were landing, because I'd advise them not to take MARTA from the airport to downtown if they were landing when school was being let out, because College Park and all. What a f*@ing dump.

Senior year of high school I was allowed to go on road trips with friends, unaccompanied. We had to pay for all our own shite, but we were allowed to go. We did a Spring break in PCB with zero parents. Took another trip to a music fest out of state. I understand that 2024 is not 1994 but let's not clutch our pearls too tightly.
