re: 30 A - Spring Break

From what I gleaned in my FB perusing, similar measures are requested for 30A. Curfews WERE instituted on the beach in Seaside, which drove the kids to Central Square. When that was shut down, they spilled into the neighboring communities of Seagrove, Blue Mtn. Beach, perhaps Watercolor, and Rosemary. Acts of vandalism were committed in the wee hours of the morning. We are not talking about the usual suspects here. Videos online are of middle-class appearing young men, obviously drunk, and in their mid to early teens. Walton County residents are angry that their taxes are being spent trying to police the mayhem caused. I expect that next year’s Spring Break will look a bit different. BTW, if you are planning a trip there during March/April 2025, you can go on the Walton county sheriff’s office website for the dates of the various school systems’ break schedules, posted early in 2025. Or, just avoid the area for the duration, as many in the know now do.
