It took 2 hours 40 minutes to sink. Once it was obvious, you would have had at least an hour, maybe as much as 90 minutes, to build something. Find some tools. Rip off some doors. Lash together some deck chairs, mattresses, whatever you can find. An hour is a long time if you're at least somewhat handy and it's a life or death situation.

Smoking a cigarette and listening to the band seems silly

Frick Billy Zane then down with the ship. Maybe find a piece of debris to hang out on.

As Curley Bill said "Prettiest man I ever saw."

I'd push the bitch off the floating debris and survive like she did in the movie instead of freezing to death while i hold her hand.

You aint lasting long at all in the water though. If you jump in without some protection from the water temperature you are screwed

There would be no tools for you. If the boat is listing, gravity will keep you from exploring options out of reach. In other words you're pretty much fricked. Today, there would be 1000 life jackets floating around to swim to. Back then there were zero.

You wouldnt have very long. You would die within an hour of hypothermia, most likely.

Try to eat as much bread and drink as much whiskey as possible before going into the water on the back of the ship. Supposedly that’s how a chef survived after going in as one of the last people that went down with it hanging on the back. The bread and whiskey kept him warm enough to survive in the water before the small rescue boat came back.

Discreetly murder some of my fellow 3rd class passengers. Lash them together and float to safety.

I would get some rope, find as many 3rd class children as I could gather and tie them together so I could use them as a human flotilla. Then when the rescue boat arrived I would say, "Thank the Savior you found me. I couldn't bear the thought of resting upon these urchins a moment longer".

Go back and grab a to-go cup on the way to the lifeboat.

either shove some women out of the way and get on a lifeboat or find a gun and end it I reckon. Would be better than drowning in that cold arse water.
