The Good:
• Great Blocking by all 5 Offensive Linemen: Nimble, Agile, Precise.

The Bad:
• The SDE did not trail the pull and got cut off by the TE.
• The LDT appears to have stunted away from the play (unlucky?) and got completely wiped out, opening up an enormous hole for the RB.
• The MIKE only gained 1 yard of ground and did not stuff the hole.

The Ugly:
• The Boundary Safety got juked out of his cleats, which brings back bad memories of last season.

Our LBers won’t see a better offensive line all year. Good practice & hopefully they get better

The disclaimer here is that they're not allowed to light each other up, either. It looks like they were told to only play at 75% effort for the scripted parts.

I went back last night and watched highlights from the Ole Miss, Mizzou, and Wisconsin games.

Dude...Obviously we know are D was bad last year but it was incredible to rewatch.

I like Andre Sam a lot and it seems like his teammates loved him - but he was absolutely awful. Horrible angles and even worse tackling.

Major Burns is straight up lost 90-95% of the time.

Greg Penn was completely incapable of making a tackle.

Toviano (was just a freshman) but he was also one that consistently stood out at not doing his job.

What's scary is, apart from Sam, a lot of these guys are coming back and allegedly playing a big role again. That's terrifying.

Not sure this was a live rep. It will obviously make the offense look good & the defense look bad

Poor tackling and poor angles from the secondary were hallmarks of the 2023 defense. Hopefully it improves through off-season and the fall.

Our safety play has fallen off an enormously tall, jagged rocky arse cliff

Josh will be in the NFL for a while. Reminds me of Dalton Hilliard

Good analysis but you missed the biggest mistake that allowed that counter to work. The playside defensive end got up the field and didn't squeeze allowing the the guard to kick him out. For any power or counter play to work you HAVE to get the kick out block to allow the wrap to get to the second level. The defensive end should squeeze that down and spill the guards block thus negating the wrap and causing all kinds of issues for the offense.
