With how they missed on Penning, and a lot of picks over the years, the Saints don’t have the luxury of taking value in the draft considering the state of the roster. That’s just the truth. Doesn’t make it right. Doesn’t make it wrong, either. I just don’t know if you can make a “value” statement on a player or a position without them having played a snap in the league yet. If the Saints nailed a Pro Bowl guard with that pick, or even if he’s just an 10 year starter, are we really going to be complaining?

They need to hit on picks. I think they hit on Fuaga, even if he has to slide to guard. That’s something I’m OK with considering the circumstances. Fuaga is going to be successful no matter what position he’s at.
