Until we change the city parish form of government, EBR will never be right. We need a parish president and a mayor. Not a mayor president.

We also need council members at large.

This might actually lead to that further down the road, I mean I could see Zachary, Baker, Central and StG pushing for it.

I’ve seen the council members and all the free lunches and they are plenty large.

Are there still more people in the parish living outside of BR’s city limits? It was this way for the 2020 census by just under 2000 people, but I don’t know if that has held up in past few years.

In 1950 three years after current city-parish govt installed just over 79% of EBR parish’s population lived inside the BR city limits. Mayor/President and the BR/parish Govt made more sense at the time, but It hasn’t made sense in the 21st century. It’s now just backwards with as many or even more people living outside of BR than inside including now having around 150,000 living in other incorporated cities inside the parish.
