he's in his prime, prolly will be for the next 2 - 4 years. i think he's gone post june 1st because of his cap next year. we'd save over 10mil on the 2025 cap by trading him. i'd rather keep him, top 5 cb in the nfl and prolly the best cb the organization has ever had.

His prime was probably his rookie season tbh. He’s an elite player, yes, but 30 is kind of the drop off for CBs like we always talk about for RBs.

The data suggest 26-27 is peak years for CBs. There’s a drop off at 30 and bigger drop off at 32. LINK

And if you are not competing for a SB in the next 2-4 years, you probably should be looking to get some assets now rather than wait until he's on the backend and you are overpaying on an aging contract.

I agree that I would prefer to have him on our team, but at the same time hard decisions need to be made to fix the mess we are in. Plus, him having a high ankle sprain that sidelined him for almost 1/2 the season makes me think his prime windows are starting to close and it's closer to 1-2 years than it is 2-4 years.
