if you are driving straight to fairplay from Denver be aware that it is 1,000 feet higher than dillon and higher than Breck. Drink lots of water.
I prefer Garden of the gods over pikes peak in Colorado Springs.

Creede - best place in Colorado to go back in time. Hasn't been overly commercialized as it's too hard to get to.
