Cape town is a cool visit, but seriously, stay out of the dangerous areas. SA shanty towns are closer to Haitian slums than the "dangerous downtowns" in the US TD prattles on about. They aren't something to frick with.
I was there about 15 years ago, so I won't try to make any specific restaurant or vineyard recommendations. Definitely go to the top of Table Mountain, but you won't necessarily be able to schedule the day, as it's extremely weather dependant. If you catch a clear morning, just race up asap. It tends to get heavy fog and cloud cover very quickly.
The vineyards are nice and worth the trip out. SA is better known for their whites than reds, but both can be enjoyable. Just enjoy the experience more than worrying about the wine.
If you see anyone on the street selling bags of macadamia nuts, do it. Probably stolen, but fricking worth it
If you have time for excursions, I did a day with a charter cage diving with great whites. Very cool bucket list kind of item. Also generally gives me one of the more interesting travel anecdotes at cocktail parties
