I dont think I am interested in reapplyjng the cover after each viewing. I dont think I want to be that economical.

This. I seldom cover ours. Its lasted 3 years. When it goes out I'll buy another one. Its covered by the porch roof but it is exposed to heat, cold and humidity. I had to install some motorized sun screens to knock the glare off so the picture can be seen but we needed them anyway....works great

I bought a 42" Toshiba off FB marketplace for $50. It's been on my patio for 4 years now. It's under a roof but it gets wet every time it rains. Still works.

Yep. Cheap tv from Walmart. Cover over it and UNPLUG IT WHEN NOT IN USE. Will last 3-5 years maybe more.
