Pete Jenkins was the DC/DL coach, literally in his coaching prime at 41.

I’ve always felt that due to Cannon winning the Heisman, it was too soon to give it to another Tiger. The West Coast media shoe horned Terry Baker a QB from Oregon St. as the winner.
