Multiple people ITT have told you that Herb is not a good salary comparable because his specific contract situation within the CBA fricked him on this contact, yet you keep comparing the two players.

I compare the two because they play the same position and are in direct competition with one another. I'd rather keep Jones, on the cheaper deal, than extend Murphy to push Jones out of the lineup. IMO, it's one or the other. Neither one is a two guard and both are too light to play the 4. The only way to keep/play them both, is for one to play out of position at SG, plus we then have to trade away both Ingram and McCollum to ensure they both have a spot.

Great players want to start, make big money, put up good numbers and win. All in that order. So who are you benching? Cause they are forcing their way out by mid-season.

Herb, like Trey, is a 25 million dollar (and more) NBA player in today’s NBA. He is not capped by the CBA in the same way Herb was, so Trey will make an appropriate amount.

Jones took a bad deal. It's true. I'd love to tear it up and give him something more fair. He's a franchise cornerstone.

I don't know where or how you derive the value for Murphy. People are worth what others are willing to pay them. I'm sure he could get the 25M/year. I wouldn't give it to him. He's not proved it yet and he's not a starter for this team.

Nobody operating a NBA franchise in their right mind would do this lol. Hes a great role player- franchise cornerstone? I love Herb but I think you’re pushing it.

He should have been a starter. The numbers show when he starts we’re just a better team,

Trey’s shooting at his size is more valuable to NBA teams than Herb’s defense. Trey’s deep shots make teams have to guard 50% more area.

It’s not difficult. Our offense is much better with Trey on the floor and he defends. Best +/- on the team (better than Herb). Hes also in 4 of our 5 best two man combinations.

Also I don’t understand why you are so obsessed with positions as opposed to skillsets and the ability to defend. Herb/Trey/Zion is a very good core though Herb has to continue to work on his shooting and Trey needs to work on self creation. Add one more creator and one more 3&D player and you have a nasty closing lineup.
