but this is the risk Colorado took, hope they enjoy the press while it lasts.

Is it though? Colorado admin and real fans have to be pissed that sanders won’t even attempt classic recruiting.

I can’t imagine he pitched turning over the entire roster every year. I’m sure the admin expected him to be a badass, on the road recruiter. That’s why I thought he’d at least be moderately successful.

classic recruiting

247 rankings for Colorado recruiting classes before 2023:

2022 - 58
2021 - 65
2020 - 36
2019 - 48
2018 - 53

(An average of 52 over those 5 years.)

2024 - 22
2023 - 21

Deion Sanders has a national pull in recruiting. It's actually a uniquely good fit for a program that doesn't have good in-state talent.
Obviously recruiting rankings are not close to perfect prognostications. But they'll give you a general gauge.
I think there need to be some coaches or staff members that devour film, especially on linemen. Whether it's for portal players or HS recruiting. If they did want to do more HS recruiting, Arizona would be good state for it. And they'd be able to find some Samoan linemen in Utah, or somewhere relatively close. Midwestern states have good linemen too.
