You never know.

Last year LSU is #1 and on a roll. Going 8-1 in their last 3 SEC series and heading to Auburn on the heels of two straight series sweeps. For their part, Auburn was 9-12, but had won back-to-back SEC series for the first time all season after struggling against the better teams in the league.

Auburn surprises LSU by winning the series. They then go on to sweep Ole Miss and Missouri to end the season en route to a regional appearance.

Auburn hosted a regional last year even. LSU is 7-14 not 9-12 so not saying they can get back into position to host at all but just like Auburn last year, they have a chance to upset #1 this weekend and then finish strong in their last 2 series and be a borderline 2 seed if they go 7-2 the rest of the way.

Still a bit of hopium left
