Southwest flight attendants union ratified contract making them highest paid in industry

So when SWA says “bags fly free”, they mean their flight attendants?

I'm happy for them and all, but these raises are mostly due to inflation running out of control. Increasing salaries to compensate for inflation will only drive inflation higher, which will mean more raises in the future—and it will become a game of dog chasing its tail.

Southwest rates will now increase. Unions never consider the customers and spend the entirety of their arguments focusing on the few really high paid executives. They never consider the average worker or the average joe customer.

I heard on the radio this morning that SW was planning on reducing employees by 2000 and pulling out of several airports

I guess those receiving a pink slip will be glad some of their coworkers got a raise.

I believe in merit pay. The only flight attendants who merit a 22% increase is the young pretty ones with nice boobs.
